After spending eight years building a diverse career in entertainment that included modeling for international magazines and performing as a drummer on Disney’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” Rae Serbeck took an intentional step back from the spotlight in 2024. Now, the multi-hyphenate artist is emerging from his creative sabbatical with three new poetry collections, including his latest work “Stumbling Man,” which he considers his strongest literary achievement to date.
The decision to pause his acting career came after completing work on the fourth and final season of the Disney+ series in 2023, where he served as one of the live musicians on set. Rather than immediately pursuing the next role, Serbeck chose to redirect his focus toward long-neglected creative projects and personal milestones, including his marriage to Alannah Hall.
During this period of renewal, Serbeck completed and published three poetry collections: “I Hate Rhyming,” “I Will Never Write Haiku Again,” and “Stumbling Man.” All three books are now available through major retailers including Amazon and Barnes & Noble, marking a significant expansion of his literary portfolio that already includes multiple published works.

The path to this creative renaissance has been anything but conventional. Born at Fort Hood Military Base in Texas to military veteran parents, Serbeck’s early life was marked by significant challenges, including an abusive environment and subsequent struggles with substance abuse during his teenage years. Now eight years into recovery, he has transformed these experiences into fuel for both his artistic work and his community advocacy efforts.
Serbeck first gained recognition in the fashion industry in 2017, developing what he describes as an alternative take on high fashion that helped him stand out as a male model. His unique aesthetic and personal story led to features in more than 50 international magazines, providing a platform that would eventually expand into film, voice acting, and writing.
The transition to writing came through an unexpected invitation to contribute to Elixir by Royel, an international humanitarian magazine. What began as a six-article assignment evolved into a long-term writing opportunity and ultimately led to his first book publication—a collection of his most popular pieces compiled for readers seeking more of his work.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, the author and performer maintains deep roots in community service. His volunteer efforts have included reading for the blind, working with Intermountain Mental Health, providing Christmas trees and gifts to families in need, caroling at nursing homes, and sharing meals with individuals experiencing homelessness. These activities reflect a commitment to connection that extends beyond his creative work.
As a creative entrepreneur, Serbeck co-owns several companies while maintaining his focus on meaningful artistic expression. His approach to writing, he explains, centers on human connection rather than commercial success. He finds the most fulfillment when readers reach out to share how his poetry or humanitarian pieces have touched their lives or made them feel understood.
The release of “Stumbling Man” represents not just a return to public creative life but a culmination of Serbeck’s year of reflection and renewal. The collection, which he describes as his best work among the three new books, showcases the evolution of his poetic voice and the depth of experience he brings to his writing.
Standing at 5’10” and embracing his Jewish faith, Serbeck continues to build a life centered on authenticity and purpose alongside his wife in their shared home. His story—from military base beginnings through addiction and recovery to international recognition in multiple creative fields—serves as a testament to the transformative power of resilience and the importance of taking time to nurture neglected passions.
With three new poetry collections now available to readers and a refreshed perspective on his multifaceted career, Rae Serbeck is positioning himself for the next chapter of his creative journey. Whether through future film projects, additional literary works, or continued community engagement, his focus remains consistent: creating meaningful connections through authentic artistic expression.
