On May 1, 2010, a declaration rippled through diplomatic and cultural circles that many might have dismissed as ceremonial pageantry. Emperor Muja’Dib Jamel El’Sori-Oser VIII proclaimed sovereignty over what he calls the African Diaspora Kingdom, also known as Numidoria, asserting territorial claims over two contested triangular regions between Egypt and Sudan: the Halaib Triangle and Bir Tawil.
The Emperor traces his lineage back eight generations to Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahima Sori, a West African prince who was enslaved and brought to America. This ancestry forms the bedrock of the kingdom’s legitimacy claims. In 2022, African elders formally recognized the Emperor’s leadership, bestowing upon him the title of King of the African Diaspora in what supporters describe as a strategic and spiritual acknowledgment of his role.
From Historical Claims to Modern Partnerships
What distinguishes this modern monarchy from purely symbolic endeavors is its network of practical agreements. The kingdom reports more than 30 bilateral agreements with acknowledged global monarchs, traditional African communities, and local mayors in rural Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama. Through sovereign governance initiatives, the organization positions itself as a diplomatic intermediary.

The Emperor also oversees Numi Kingdom Global Enterprise Corp., which has signed a partnership agreement with GCATRED to develop trade opportunities. The kingdom encourages and supports involvement in natural resources and mining, serving as an intermediary to connect buyers and sellers across African markets.
Recognition and Humanitarian Focus
The kingdom has received acknowledgment from political figures, including letters from Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and recognition from President Joe Biden’s office, according to statements on their materials. These recognitions cite the Emperor’s community service and humanitarian leadership rather than formal diplomatic status.

Her Imperial Majesty, the Empress, focuses on women’s empowerment, family stability, and cultural preservation. Together, the royal couple frames their work as addressing humanitarian needs within diaspora communities through advocacy and educational programs.
The 2025 coronation ceremony formalized Emperor Muja’Dib’s role as Senior Emperor, described by the kingdom as ensuring “continuity of ancestral royal lineage” and affirming sovereignty claims. The event symbolized what organizers call a legitimate transfer of royal authority honoring centuries of dynastic tradition.
A Vision of Unity
The kingdom’s stated goals center on uniting African nations and the diaspora, strengthening bonds for collaboration, and preserving cultural heritage. Whether operating as a cultural organization, a diplomatic entity, or something between, Numidoria represents an intersection of historical grievance, cultural identity, and modern institution-building. For the global African diaspora community it seeks to represent, the kingdom offers what it frames as a path toward self-identity and economic development—though the practical impact of these ambitious claims remains to be fully documented.
