Billy Rice was living the professional dream—a law degree from Howard University, executive positions at major banks, and the outward appearance of success. But behind closed doors, the former high-level athlete was battling an alarming health crisis. Between ages 49 and 57, Rice found himself suffering from five of the top chronic diseases killing Americans: heart disease, stroke, prostate cancer, diabetes, and obesity.
His illnesses eventually forced him into early retirement from his role as chief legal officer. But what could have been the end of his story became the beginning of something entirely different.
A System Born from Necessity
At age 60, Rice created what he calls the “My Power 60 System,” a wellness program focused on five essential areas for transforming health: nutrition, flexibility, exercise, stress management, and finding personal bliss. The approach emphasizes whole food, plant-based eating combined with targeted movement and mindset shifts.
The results were dramatic. Rice shed 55 pounds, reversed his chronic conditions, and reports looking and feeling younger at 64 than he did in his “early forties”. But rather than simply enjoying his renewed health, he turned his experience into a mission.

From Personal Transformation to Teaching Others
Rice documented his journey in a book sharing the system’s name and now teaches a five-week course at Temple University called “Great Health is the New Wealth,” targeting people over 40 who face similar health challenges. He’s been featured in Health Monitor Magazine and works as a speaker, author, and mentor.
His approach to health transformation emphasizes something beyond simple knowledge transfer. “Knowledge isn’t power,” Rice explains on his website. “It’s how you apply the knowledge with the correct actions that makes it power.”
The program creates personalized blueprints for individuals, adapting the five core principles to each person’s specific needs and goals. Rice positions his work not as diet or fitness advice, but as a comprehensive lifestyle overhaul addressing the interconnected nature of physical health, mental state, and life purpose.

Building a Brand with Purpose
Rice has expanded beyond speaking and writing with the launch of My Power 60 Apparel Brand, designed to spread messages of positivity and inspiration. True to his community-focused mission, 25% of apparel profits are donated to community and youth programs.
Looking ahead, Rice’s ambitions are substantial: he aims to become a national and international motivational speaker, grow the apparel line to $5 million, build a $10 million brand focused on giving back to youth, and deliver a TEDx Talk. His transformation program for health and wellness represents what he calls “a seismic revolution in health, wellness, and happiness.”
For someone who faced a forced retirement due to failing health, Rice has found what he calls his bliss—helping others avoid the same crisis that nearly ended his own story prematurely.
