The music industry landscape continues to evolve as independent labels carve out new spaces for artistic expression and global reach. This summer marks the arrival of Through The Void Records, an independent label that approaches music curation with the precision of an art gallery rather than a traditional record company.
Founded by musician and creative entrepreneur Lawrence Fancelli, and managed by industry executive Alessandra Pellegrineschi, Through The Void Records makes their mark with the release of “Dreaming (Wide Awake),” the debut single from international electronic duo under:tones. The track, which precedes an official music video shot in Los Angeles and scheduled for August 6, represents both the artistic direction of the new label and the sonic identity of its first signed act.
The collaboration behind “Dreaming (Wide Awake)” brings together notable figures from the electronic music world. Alex Neri, co-founder of Planet Funk and a pioneer of European electronic music, joins forces with multi-instrumentalist and composer Matteo Zarcone to form under:tones. Their production partnership on this track creates a sound that merges warm, cinematic textures with bright synthesizers and danceable grooves, all anchored by the vocals of Sonny Reeves.
“We wrote it thinking of that moment when life suddenly feels like a movie—too vivid to be real, too true to ignore,” say under:tones. “It’s about clarity, love, and the thrill of catching up with your own dreams.”
The single serves as an introduction to the duo’s forthcoming album Encounters, planned for 2026, which promises to explore cross-cultural connections through what the artists describe as “sonic short films.” Having premiered their live show in Italy in July 2025, under:tones plans to continue touring across Europe and North America.
The new label operates with an international scope, legally based in Florida while maintaining operations in Italy and drawing on a network of professionals across Europe, the UK, and the United States. This structure reflects the founders’ vision of bridging Italian musical talent with global market opportunities.
“When we decided to redefine Through The Void as an independent boutique label, our goal was to build something far beyond a traditional record label,” say Fancelli and Pellegrineschi. “We envisioned a space where music isn’t just released, but curated like art—a home where every artist receives the time, care, and strategy they need to transform talent into something timeless and meaningful.”
The label’s approach emphasizes comprehensive artist development, focusing on music, visuals, storytelling, and strategy as interconnected elements. This philosophy positions Through The Void as what the founders call “an accelerator of visions” rather than simply a container for songs.

“For us, an independent label should never be a container of songs, but an accelerator of visions. That’s why we work on every detail—music, visuals, storytelling, and strategy—so our artists can speak a universal language while staying true to who they are,” the founders explain. “Our mission is clear: to help artists grow without compromise. We merge creativity with global strategy, building bridges between Italy and the U.S. and opening doors to new audiences worldwide.”
The musical partnership of under:tones brings together diverse backgrounds and expertise. Neri’s decades of experience in shaping the Italian house sound combines with Zarcone’s versatility as both an A&R professional and producer whose credits span film scoring and releases on underground labels including King Street Sounds, Trax Records, and Nervous.
“Dreaming (Wide Awake)” exemplifies the artistic vision both the label and its inaugural act aim to achieve—music that feels simultaneously timeless and contemporary, emotionally resonant yet accessible. The track’s production balances raw textures with polished elements, creating what the artists describe as a golden hour feeling, sun-drenched and slightly surreal.
As Through The Void Records makes its entrance into the independent music sector, its boutique approach and international infrastructure suggest a model that prioritizes artistic integrity while maintaining commercial viability. With under:tones leading the roster and additional releases planned, the label positions itself as a curator of experiences rather than merely a distributor of music.
The August 1 release of “Dreaming (Wide Awake)” marks not just the debut of a new single, but the beginning of what Fancelli and Pellegrineschi envision as a redefinition of the independent label model—one where music, art, and global strategy converge to create lasting cultural impact.
